<> @3{AMOS EXTENSION PROGRAMMERS PLEA
@2
}by Andy Gibson
@1
Hey all you top notch coders of those
Amos Extensions, why not write to any
of the AZ team and let us know your
secrets ?
There are many, myself included, that
would love to know the ins and outs of
writing our very own extensions !!!
Basically we need a tutorial on this
subject which everyone can follow !
Easier said than done I know, but with
a bit of effort, everyone who is a
master with Amos should be churning
out extensions. After all, if Steve
Bye can code with Amos, then we are
all masters ! Only joking Steve !
You can't code with Amos ? hehehehe !
Seriously, since our long term friends
at Europress have seen fit to leave us
with no support or updates, it's up
to us to keep Amos alive and kicking.
The more we learn, the better chances
of Amos staying at the top.
If we, the users don't support it,
then I'm afraid Amos is gonna go down
the fatal path of Doom and many of the
great products will become so sparse
that PD, Licenceware etc. will also
become doomed !!! It's a fact.
Without decent PD and Licenceware, the
Amiga is probably gonna die out too !
Surely we don't want that for our best
friend (huh) do we ?
@1I'm not just asking for serious coders
to write in with tutorials. Oh no !
Even if you have just completed a neat
game, utility or demo, why not send in
the source code to us in a Step By
Step guide that everyone can learn and
enjoy ? If you don't want to give us
all your graphics or sounds, don't
worry. Just add in some basic Amos
screens as these would do I suppose.
After all, it's the code we are
interested in. Everyone has at least
one production that they are proud of
and surely you all have more Handy
Hints that we haven't included in any
issue of AZ yet ? C'mon, get them
sent in to any AZ member.
Steve may give you a freebie !!!
(Go on Steve - it's worth it m8)
Everyone expects something for nout
these days ! Yes they do !
You have purchased AZ and have
access to loads of Amos Source and
many of that is exclusive to AZ.
Without your input AZ won't be able
to continue giving away FREE source !
You learn from AZ, now let other AZ
readers learn from you.
No matter how small, large, silly or
bizarre youre code is, send it in.
Let's have more silly stuff, even if
your code is crap, are you listening
Steve, send it in.
(Sorry Steve - you seem to be taking
a power of it from me - only joking
of course. He'll probably edit this
part out anyway !!!)
@1Let's have some more humour in AZ.
It's 1995 and AZ is set to become the
B I G G E S T Amos Disk Mag for the
Amiga. (The X-Mas issue was in my
view the most impressive Amos Disk
Mag ever !)
So if you have never contributed in
any way to AZ, shame on you !
Send in some Articles, code, graffix,
sound or music files. Anything at all
to do with Amos, we want it.
I really hate all the sad gits that
don't want to share their Amos secrets
with other users ! After all, where
do you think they learned all their
secrets from ?
Take Lee Bamber for example:
Top Coder, Nice Guy and all round
family entertainer almost in the same
league as Bruce Forsyth but just
can't seem to get that pose !
Lee shares his secrets with us, he
doesn't have to. How many of you have
used some of his techniques from the
source code on past issues of AZ ?
Did you credit him ? Maybe you have
looked at some of the source on AZ and
have been able to improve it beyond
anyone's expectations ! Let us at it.
Now enter Lee with his famosus TV
quote (as stolen by Mr Beadle):
Next time the star of the show could
be you - goodnight !
end.
